“Hill Road Shops” Collection
It was during the first lockdown in 2020 on our daily walks I got the idea to paint some of my surroundings. Every where was so ghostly quiet, no one about. The shops were closed but still had beautiful displays in their windows. The sun was shining with stunning blue sky. The bird song was more noticeable and there was lots more wild life around than usual in the parks. Gems of Clevedon shop on Hill Road was my first painting. This is what it looked like before it was refurbished….Even though it can’t be seen from street eye view, I wanted to capture the pretty views behind going up Zig Zag lane to the houses at the top!
I had so much fun with my ‘Gems of Clevedon’ Painting I decided to do more. ‘The fallen Tree Micro Pub’ was my second painting to add to this collection ……then shortly after I created the ‘No. 67 Barista Barber’ The ‘Spinning Weal’ ‘Panache’ and ‘Oasis’s Beauty Salon’.
I loved the combinations of the different styles and colours of the shops and surrounding buildings with the beautiful greenery around them.
I am planning to add to this series so watch this space!
All of my paintings have been professionally scanned and prints from post card size up to A2 are available on request. Cards also available.
